Casino Rama – Dealer of Big Time Excitement

Casino Rama is the largest First Nations casino in Canada. It is a hotel, casino and entertainment center in Rama, Ontario, Canada. This casino is a joint venture of First Nations, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and Penn National Gaming. It opened in July 31, 1996 and has since been very popular in the country. It is the second casino in Ontario, Canada.

The initial purpose of the hotel and casino was to provide financial benefit and help for the 131 Ontario First Nations. The Chippewas commissioned Moriyama and Teshima architects to design the hotel and casino on the Rama Reserve. The hotel and casino has also sponsored numerous local events and other initiatives in the support of the Native veterans and First Nations projects. The culture of the Ojibway people has been incorporated into the design of the building. Local artists have created a very beautiful mural to symbolize the friendship between the Chippewas and the visitors who come to visit.

The thrill of the game is not the only excitement to be had in Casino Rama. The hotel and casino complex also hosts a number of singers and various entertainment shows. It has a 5,000 seat entertainment center which has a bevy of stars like Michael Bolton, Faith Hill, Bill Cosby, David Copperfield, Leanne Rimes and many more. Locals and visitors alike flock to watch the various shows which are offered year round. Also, there are several Canto-pop stars from Hong Kong have also visited the hotel and casino. The state of the art entertainment center has the latest in sound technology.

The all suite hotel boasts 300 luxurious rooms and 9 different restaurants and a couple of bars. The casino has over a hundred gaming tables, more than 2,400 slot machines and a poker room to keep the guests busy and happy. Several very large, well organized parking areas, which can accommodate 1,700 vehicles, are available for the guests and locals. They also have a relaxing and refreshing spa, flexible conference and meeting rooms and some very spacious ballrooms. It has been voted Ontario’s favorite casino for nine consecutive years already.
